About Us

SELF CATERING SUPERMARKET

Our origin was catering from our café, Let’s Eat! at Ashgrove.  Due to the growth of both the cafe and the catering business it was necessary to separate them. The catering business was named Plates & Platters Catering and found its new home and purpose designed commercial kitchen at Bardon where we operated for 3 years. Out growing our Bardon kitchen, we are now located at Gaythorne.

Our commercial kitchen is approved and licensed by the Brisbane City Council and we are public liability insured. These licenses and insurances are requirements that all clients should demand prior to engaging a caterer. (If an individual or organisation engages an unlicensed and/or uninsured caterer they may be held partly responsible in the event of illness or injury.)

Our compliance to the Food Act 2006 and the most recent legislative requirements (Feb 2008) has been achieved and we are committed to all aspects of food safetly and hygiene.

“FSS and FSP provisions will commence on 22 February 2008. All licensed Food businesses will be required to have a suitably qualified FSS from this date. Defined businesses required to have a FSP are required to have a FSPin place from 22 February 2008. Self Catering/Do It Yourself!

Our Self Catering menus provide clients that want to manage their own catering with ready-made, top quality finger foods, dipping sauces, gourmet cheeses, condiments, cakes, biscuits & chocolates and free advice.  Many of our hand made finger foods are available plus gourmet sourced lines that we have tried and tested.  The range includes vegetarian and gluten free. Storage and heating guides are provided. Self catering is very economical and a great way to get professional quality food at a great price.
